Before Love

A lifetime ago
In times of swords and shields
The spill of blood did flow
Over meadows and silent fields

He never knew her name
Never had they met
He loved her just the same
His life all but set

Two souls together in rebirth
A second chance from the Dove
He had finally proved his worth
So says the message from above
Had we met, before love?

Mariana, I like this as well. So sad, two people passing in search of each other and yet, never meeting.
I enjoyed the simplicity of this poem that says something so well without the burden of length.
Very nice!

Denise: Thank you very much.

Danny: Here I was hoping you were going to say, you were going to be my Knight in shining armour!  Oh well, but thank you for the compliment.

I was going to say that but my armor needs shining and my sword is dull.  Been a long time since last battle for damsel in distress.  Wait, i'm putting boots on now!

This dove character, what's his/her purpose.
Now cupid, he would have shot him in the butt and they would have gotten together, pronto.....
Hark, a knight cometh with rusty sword, must go.

Danny: You had better hurry. Us damsels aren't very patient about a lot of things.

James: You disappoint me.  Running off when another knight approaches, he could be a black knight.  And you not staying to defend my honour....OK so I have none..  By the way Cupid only shoots knights who are..well,shall we say... Very well equipted

Amy,Corinne and Marge: Thanks.  Maybe It's every girls dream....NA!

Hark thou fair maiden
I have come hither to defend thy honor
And to shield thee from The Raven

With my sword and shield I will defend thee
And keep thee safe from harm
And when 'tis over, 'twill be thee and me

For love knows not the bonds of time
It stretcheth beyond death and life
And fills the cup like the finest of wine

For I have always known thee
From that first sight above
And now again, we shall be free
To know what we knew. . . before love

Marina,
I have many talents. . . not all of them hidden. . . would you like to know more?

I would be happy to tell (and share) them with you. . . you have only to ask. . .

Enough of this,
Must I battle Sven for this maiden's hand?   Out with your sword and take a stand, chivalry is here with heart's decree,
off with your head, she belongs to me.

Battle you must and battle you will
For I have rescued this maiden and defend her I will
For my sword is sharp and my armour shines brightly
I will defend her honor both daily and nightly

So, en garde thou knave, prepare to defend
For when the battle's over, she will be with me in the end. . .

Boys! I am flattered by all this attention, but don't you think it would be easier if both of you came to Toronto and we could make this into an interesting threesome!!!

Hark thou knave!
I challenge thee to a contest of the mind
Poems for the fair Lady Marina you are to find
We will post them here you and I
The Lady Marina will pick one
And the other will fly. . .
