The Gardener

Ahh... the daises are done
They've opened their petals, every one
As I breathe in the roses and the peonies bloom
Such fresh sunrise, I awaken to

I gather my basket, clippers and gloves
Out to the garden planted with love
The colors are perfect a sight to behold
Selected for brilliance their shadow and height
Each morning I sigh at this wonderful sight

Their fragrance intoxicating, the blending suburb
Dashed with a dollop of fresh growing herbs
I think that the daises will do for today
Pink ones, blue, yellow just fine
A back drop of baby's breath and tarragon vine

A shower and make up and I'm out to my car
In forty five minnets I'll pull in your yard
As I listen to music on my way there
I drift to the sweet words, no worry's or cares

I remember the day you worked out the plans
To put in the garden, my Phenomenal Man
You dug and you planted, talked and you cursed~
Sing with a whistle, recited in verse
Each and every detail you attend to
Now its the flowers, I bring to you

Oh the gate is left open, this is just fine
My dress wont get tarnished by the rust on the vine
I see you my darling as I pull up the car
I can't wait to be there, I'm not very far

I slide to the crib side and open my door
I notice new neighbors, not there before
I quickly walk pass as I head up the walk
Lay the flowers at your grave side
As I sit down and talk

Oh, Tori~
This was just lovely and the ending
was too sad.  Flowers blooming and shared with memories of a loved one ...
how poignant.

Devine!! Sweet, sweet memories you shared in
this poem. The minute you got into your car
I knew where you were going. This one is a
grand slam!

The ending was unexpected
but so lovely....so lovely...

This was beautiful Tori...

 I love the time
and in between
the calm inside me
in the space
where I can breathe...
