the One

It's no fun
sleeping all alone.
Hi honey, have you ever felt all alone
wishing someone would pick you up and take you home?
Someone who would really enjoy your company.
the One to admire you more and more each day.
I was hoping for a big change in my life today.
Maybe love, sweet love would come and take my heart away.
Hey, its time to go out to the movies
and I can hardly wait
to enjoy that romantic dinner date.
And feel free to hold and kiss me if you must
I appreciate women filled with love and lust.
I hope you wouldn't mind at all
if I run to you each time you call.
And I would probably always cooperate
if you promise not to keep me up too late.
Maybe all this attention and tender care
would lead me to believe you really care.

Its no fun
sleeping all alone.
I know lots of girls
but none are mine alone.
Sometimes the loneliness is hard to bear.
My desire is to find just one that truly cares.
And so I search night and day
for a special heart sure to stay.
The one and only heart that can make me believe
that you're the One who cares for me.

Oh hon I feel your need.  Someone, somewhere IS waiting for you, I believe that and so should you.  This was beautiful almost a song

May the world hug you today,
With it's warmth and love.
I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart,
That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world,
Wishing you well and
wishing you love......

It always seems the hardest part is the wait....But then when it is over..it was always worth it.  This flows well and has a heart felt meaning

It's hard to find love
But it will find you

James...sometimes it is hard to sleep alone, but be sure your need doesn't make you see things in others that might not be there to begin with. She'll find you, just be patient

Thank you paulsm I am happy you enjoyed this.
I agree First_Knight the wait is a test for patience.  I am willing to wait only waiting with anticipation.  Thanks for your nice comments.
Liz I feel like it is hard for love to find me.  When I date someone I am wondering if the feelings are real or a fantasy.  I believe it is a trust issue.  So I am working on that.
Hoot owl remember when you said have I ever met someone and thought is she the one for me, or have I met someone and thought they are a nice girl but its not there?  I was thinking about what you said and more when I wrote this poem.  In fact, I have been thinking about this subject for at least a year. And I believe I will know the One that cares for me by my feelings and also by her actions.  Because equal feelings will create equal actions.  If a woman thought I was her number 2 or 3 she wouldn't put much effort into it.  And so I would be the one always calling or writing and she would be thinking hey, I'll call when I get some "free" time.
I'm having fun but I'm also serious about this subject.
I know Michael.  I appreciate your nice comments and I am hoping that you will find the One and of course she will find you.
Thanks Denise I appreciate your nice comments very much.
Thanks to everyone for your wonderful and special words of encouragement.   I feel like I am among friends.    James

Longing is so difficult...it makes time pass painfully slow, but if you just let go and enjoy life...love will find you...You do write with your heart.

You`ve put alot of heart into this one James.
I hope that you find the one that you heart longs for.

Thanks RuffRyder and I have felt that many times.   I think I will find the one that I want but just as important she will find the one she wants.   Thanks for that little bit of humor.    James

Well, I just have to say, James, if you and Rufff are planning to use "army men" to represent the women of the past, then THAT might be your answer right there...Women that resemble little green, plastic, Army men!  HAHAHA!

This poem is so refreshing to hear from a "male" point of view, because it is so easy to forget that there are actually some men who HAVE a bit of feeling about them.  I rarely think of a man as being "lonely".

But too, I can appreciate your sense of longing in this one.  You have written of this feeling so wonderfully here!

January I value the women in my past and some are still in my life and some I choose to leave in my past.   I am always thankful for an opportunity to build a relationship, whether it be a friendship, companion, lovers, or more.  Most will be friends, some companions, a few lovers, and I hope no more than three wifes (one at a time).   I desire a mutual attraction, where both of us have equal desires to share our lives, experiences, hopes and dreams with the other.   If I think about my desire too much I find myself becoming lonely.  So I have to focus on the moment and try to enjoy todays opportunities.   James

James this is beautiful...I firmly believe there is someone for everyone and just because we are ready for that person doesn't mean they're ready for us...It will come in time.

james~ I'm sorry you are feeling lonely. Your poetry expresses your feelings so clear. As everyone has said, she is out there, you'll find her when the time is right. But you might want to enjoy that empty bed you get to hog right now, you never know, she might snore!(haha) -SEA

James-   As long as you never give up hope, and the things that make you, you, I believe that the special someone that was destined to be your other half will appear.
This poem spoke volumes of your caring nature and your lonely soul. Keeping the faith,

James,
This is a beautiful poem, very well written and full of feeling.  I think most of us know what it's like to feel that longing that's almost unbearable while we wait for "the one" that MUST be out there somewhere...  It's a frustrating search but we have to let the hope within us keep us going.

Thank you Sonje for you sincere comments.  I know that I have to accept my fate..and yet that doesn't mean that I can't have hope that my fate will change tomorrow.
Thank you Molly..and somehow I like that better than Sam.   I believe some longing is good.  I Love the Foreigner song called "I want to know what Love is".  I will keep hoping but my friend Mich has told me many times I must let go and I agree with her..because what she says is true...too many "what ifs" can take the enjoyment out of life and we will miss the "what is"...we will not be able to enjoy the new moments in our lives.  Its interesting how easy it is for me to say this but not as easy to embrace.   James
