Who's Gonna Cry When You're Gone ?
~Marge Tindal~

For all your self-thought praise,
who's gonna cry when you're gone?
Who's gonna say I miss you?
Who's gonna sing your song?

Who's gonna wish you back?
Who's gonna wish you didn't go?
It would really be so sad
if the answer was ...
no one you know.

It isn't what you think of yourself
that matters when you boast.
It's the praise that comes from others
when you've given life your most.

So, who's gonna cry when you're gone?
Better think that one through.
The one who cries when you're gone
may be only you.

Hi Marge,

Who's gonna cry when I'm gone?
The answer isn't clear.
Far fewer folks than those around
That cry because I'm here!!

~marge,

great poem, this one captivated my attention from the first line. i love the title also.   this poem as all of yours do, teaches us a lesson or asks us an important question "whose going to cry when you're gone" i love the line especially that reads..."it isn't what you think of yourself...that matters when you boast, its the praise that comes from others...when you've given life your most" These are words to remember and live by. thanks for sharing, this one is being printed out!

Something to thing about Marge.  This made me think about that song "He's a legend in his own mind".  I hope someone is loving me when I'm gone not because I want them to hurt and miss me but because I want to know in my heart when I take my life's last living breath that I knew how to love. James

Corinne~
Thank you for liking, gal.

Cerenity~
Hi there !  I'm glad you liked it well enough to copy it.
On the e-mail ... my pleasure.

Balladeer~
Oh, my gosh ... just get 'em to cry
now and you won't have to worry, huh?
LOL !  What a guy !

Amy~
Thank you for taking the time to speak so nicely about what I write.  If just one thing touches you ... I've accomplished much.

James~
I know what you mean.
Our tears fall for those who leave,
and in their leaving, take the closeness of
their love and friendship when they go.
Thank you for those thoughts.

This does give one something to think about.
I would hate to think what it would be like if my soul was stuck here and I had to watch my loved one`s deal with the loss.
I would rather they be happy that I`ve gone to a better place, than see them cry.
Nice read Marge
Thank you.

You got to get up every morning with a smile on your face
and show the world all the love in your heart
Then people are gonna treat you better
You're gonna find, yes you will

KitKat~
Now that's a great compliment.
I write from my heart and when
it causes someone to think ...
I've doubled my pleasure.
Thank you so much for letting
me know.

When I'm dead and gone
put smiles on you lips
burn all my poems
and cash in my chips

Laugh dance and sing
tell jokes that degrade me
Perhaps God will look down
shed a tear and forgive me

I'm just visually challenged!

Whoa!  Are you trying to cheer me up or what?
That one felt a bit like a spanking...lol
Now I must write something cheery to atone...
