A cold wind blows across a moonlit night
The chilly water ripples in an ocean cove
The seaside forest rustles gently with the breeze
The stars twinkle like diamonds on a sea of black velvet in the sky

A singly solitary soul stands quietly, thinking of times long past
Her long golden hair blows around her saddened face
In a time of happiness she had a great love of life
A crystalline tear slips out of her midnight blue eyes and falls silently

As she walks along the shore, she wipes her tears away
In this world, dreams for her would never come true
All she had ever known in her life was loss
This situation should not be anything new

The sound of a waterfall cascades through the silent air
A love for them had been something they’d both shared
She hung her head, wondering what she’d done to deserve this
All she wanted was a friend

A shooting star streaks across a moonlit night
The seaside forest casts a shadow across its ocean cove
The chilly water ripples with the gentle breeze
The sea of black velvet in the sky is showered with its moonlit night

A great glimpse into your soul, Cassers.  I do hope the pain is lessening for you.  Although I'm not the best friend I could be, I will try my best to be here for you.  My advice to you is simply this.  Let him go.  Let the winds of change sweep him and all the pain with him away.  I know it must be hard. But don't let him weigh you down.  Fly to the sky, my friend.  For that's where you are destined to be.

Your own words in this beautiful rendering should give you hope .....

'A shooting star streaks across
a moonlit night'

A shooting star is an omen of coming good.
One goes out ... another is alight.

Great poem Cassie, though the motivation behind it is not great at all.  I must agree with Krista here, you have to leave him behind, forget about him.  He's only bringing you down, and that's one place where I don't want to see you, but you don't belong.  If you still need me to stay after school (I know that was a long time ago...) or listen, I'll be there.

Thanks for the replies.  I know my motivation wasn't the greatest.  I just wish I had done something to avoid loosing that friendship.  Shooting stars are hope, and that's what i've got.     thanks everyone.

Really liked your expression. Friendship is a two way street.  Often, others do not return the same trust or caring that is the foundation of a good friendship.
This was well written I feel.

Very nice imagery in this poem.  A lot of pain and passion went into it.  I like this one very much.

What a beautiful picture painted with your words.  Outstanding
