LOVE IS

Love is beauty beyond the eye,
Cirrus clouds afloat on the sky.
A rainbow on your darkest day,
A touch that tells you, "it's o.k."

Invisible arms that keep you warm,
That hold you tight amidst life's storm.
A smile by the grace of dawn,
The sweetest vision ever drawn.

A fluttering heart, a gentle hand,
A soul you know and understand.
A wisp of dream, a priceless worth,
Love is, truly, Heaven on Earth.

Love is intrigue, love is romance.
Love is a gliding moonlight dance.
Love is compassion beyond need
Love is within us all - a seed.

Nurtured, it blooms, becomes a flower.
A fragrance sweet, and yet a power.
A strength you can rely upon,
As soundless as the silver swan.

Love is forgiving, understanding,
Ne'er expecting, nor demanding.
Love is patient, kind, and pure.
Tantalizing, yet demure.

A wish, a hope, a dream, a sigh,
A shooting star across the sky
An undying timeless endeavor
For when found true, Love is forever.

Michael Anderson

Thank you Danny - for the inspiration.

Michael,
A little inflated,
But wonderfully stated.
A beautiful poem.

This is so touching Michael and so beautifully written.  I think this is the vision we all see in true love...and you have captured it so well. "love is within us all, a seed" --wonderful!

An undying timeless endeavor
For if found true, Love is forever.

This is true ... and you can see this in a person ... it stands out like a neon sign
for all to see ... if you can't see this in a person you love ... then chances are the relationship will fail ... when you hold each other and cry tears of joy for each other ( just because ) ... you know you've found each other

"A fluttering heart, a gentle hand,
A soul you know and understand.
A wisp of dream, a priceless worth,
Love is, purely, Heaven on Earth."...

"Love is forgiving, understanding,
Ne'er expecting, nor demanding.
Love is patient, kind, and pure.
Tantalizing, yet demure."

ahhh, this poem is like Heaven on Earth too...
poerty in motion, once again.

that have never been touched...
there are places inside our hearts...
that need to be loved this much...

Michael, I think you've summed it up with perfection!  This is the most beautiful way I've seen love portrayed! EXCELLENT!

This is an excellent poem.  It sums up the love between my husband and myself, better than I have done, though I've tried endlessly.  This poem speaks of a love very rare and wonderful, and says it beautifully.

Love can be as close as your next heart beat
or as distant as the star`s above.
Nice read Michael

Michael, you just can't stop these gems. Keep them coming. Somewhere you said freeverse is tough for you. I'm sure you can put them together. Keep writing, stretch yourself, you have tha talent.

Excellent Michael...
Love is forgiving, understanding,
Ne'er expecting, nor demanding.
Love is patient, kind, and pure.
Tantalizing, yet demure.

How true these four lines!!
Beautiful Michael.

Michael, Once again you write a marvelous poem, does your mind ever get tired? It doesn't start sending you messages like overload to much input to format into output...LOL You must have genius status in there.

Sy, Inflated? Hmmm...Could be.  I can not honestly say love is a feeling I've "shared" with anyone though the few times I felt I was in love this is what I honestly felt.  I think Rex knows what I'm talking about, "when you hold each other and cry tears of joy for each other ( just because ) ... you know you've found each other".  That's what I was trying to capture here.

Martie, a vision not realized often enough I think.

Rex, Bingo!  You know exactly what I'm talking about.

Devina, I wonder if there's any hope left for the rest of us?

Rosemary, you are very lucky to experiance such a love.  I stand envious.

Parker, I appreciate the vote of confidence on my freeverse.  I don't go there often but I will continue to try to expand.  Once I feel comfortable there, who knows?

Marge, doesn't happen much...LOL  Glad you enjoyed.

Gloria, I think it's when my brain overloads that I pick up the pen to let some of it out actually.  Don't feel too much like a genious right now, though.  If I were, maybe I would know first hand what it's like to be truly loved and not just have to specualte.

Everyone else, a sincere thank you for all your replies.

Michael

This is awe inspiring, Michael! And this feeling you describe, it's really what keeps us going, isn't it?

Without it, we seek it, with it, we hold on to it desperately...

One of your best here, me thinks.

Michael...this is beautiful. It's amazing how love can be so many different things and so different for each person. You've captured the essence well
