If I were but a butterfly, ...I'd soar on wings of air, I'd float aloft on summer winds, ...as soft as angel's hair, Rainbowed wings of many colors, ...radiant in the sun, Suspended on a cooling breeze, ...with nature I'd be one, If I were but a butterfly, ...adrift in heaven's blue, If I were but a butterfly, ...I'd fly away with you.

If I were but a gentle dove ...I'd fly on wings of white High above the clouds and trees ...I'd soar in graceful flight In the air I'd drift away ...My plumage shining bright 'Ore landscapes, rainbows, sun, and moon ...from day into the night If I were but a gentle dove ...I'd fly the whole day through On graceful wings, I'd find a way ...To get back home to you
Beautiful poem Mike...as you can see, I found it inspiring
Geesh, just look at this! You've got everyone flying, even Ruth! ( and I believe she hates to fly!) LOL I just read your nightingale poem, and thought it was beautiful, then I stumble onto this, and find it just as breathtaking! You are on a roll....I had no clue you were over 45...LOL I like what you had to say about the mushy factor! LOL I suppose you're right, although I wasn't aware of any age restrictions! hehe Great job Mike!
