This poem was written as a challange from the doctors point of view of a surgery he did that made history. While preforming a life saving technique  on a 21 week fetus inside it's mother's womb, the tiny baby reached out to clasp this doctor's finger...When I posted this the first time, I did not have the picture to post with it....but thanks to Ladycat....here the two are together. What a miracle

This link will let you see the picture and the poem together....sorry I had to do it this way

What a great story, and your words tell it better than any newspaper article could.

Sorry guys...trying on this picture bit here....perhaps Ron has blocked pictures from all nonpassions sites...I don't know? Think it's important to see the picture with this poem or would have never reposted it.

Ruth I read the poem before and it was awesome, bringing tears to my eyes. Just chokes me up!  With the picture it says a thousand words.  Again, I am choked up by a miracle like this! Our God is an awesome God!

Is there a greater miracle than the miracle of birth?
Very nice poem!  I didn't get a picture either.

Even though I`ve watched the birth of my own children this one made my heart skip a beat.
I agree, both the picture and your poem have brought this one to life.
Beautiful.

Ruth, This poem with the picture is amazing, it brought tears to my eyes, just seeing that precious little hand sqeezing the doctors finger. I'm sure that doctors life has become filled with inspiration. Yours words brought it all to life and made it beautiful.

Ruth - This is a powerful poem - it stands on its own.  The picture only makes it stand ever higher.  I don't know how a person could possibly think that a child in the womb is anything but God's grace for the world, and that destroying that precious life is anything but a denial of our Creator's love for us all.  Alan Keyes is right - destroying life with impunity is the ultimate example of tyranny.  Thanks for the poem, Ruth.
