YESTERDAY'S ANGEL

The last box packed, set by the door.
With a sigh, key thrown to the floor.
I'll take one last look then I'm gone.
That never again here I'm drawn.

"Close your eyes and see me fly
To you in dream, sweet lullaby."

Why do these words still sing to me,
Of Yesterday's sweet memory.

"Hand picked by God & sent to you
I am the one - you know it's true..."

Such soft words echoed in heart,
Dare I believe, even in part?

"Look no further, weary man
Stop and rest - it's in His plan"

Upon the wall in deepest blue,
Yesterday's Angel holds me true.

"You have journeyed many years
Cried your share of guilt and tears..."

Would seem I've many more to go,
Nothing's left here for me, I know.

"I see all that's in you soul
I am here to mend you whole"

I'll hold your promise as a token,
Though some hearts are meant to be broken.

"Look no further, cry no more
I am who you're looking for..."

I hear your words but cannot see
You standing anywhere near me.

"See me come to you in white
Walk with me all through the night"

‘Tis true by night we dance in dream,
But by day die in voiceless scream.

"I stir your passion deep inside
Give in to me - you need not hide."

Alas, there nothing left within,
Somehow all died, in giving in.

"Open up and feel no shame
Our love is pure, a burning flame"

Whereby a touch forsakes the name,
Till all that's left is tears and blame.

"Look no further, see me now
To you mi-Lord, I humbly bow..."

I am not worthy, see me not,
Tomorrow's dream holds me forgot.

"I am your lady - ecstacy
I hold you close - confide in me"

Release from me thy lure of lust,
By what bonds dare you hold my trust?

"Your soul is mingled now with mine
Inseparable through all space and time"

A wounded soul that never flies
Nor dreams by silenced lullabies.

"Look no further - God sent me
To set your captive spirit free..."

Of all the words you've given me,
The truest of all these must be.

Good-bye dearest angel of blue.
I will look no further for you.
An oak frame left upon the wall,
I turn from face, from words, from all.

On my way out, locking the door
Of memories I'll hold no more.
If Yesterday's angelic host
Or Tomorrow's forgotten ghost.

Michael Anderson

'Tis true, Love lasts forever,
Only her memory slips away.

Serenity is blushing once again...I feel like
a voyeur after reading this.  so intimate and
painful...you transform your own pain into beauty for others...Incredible Michael.

I hung on every word Michael, this is exceptional.

I'll hold your promise as a token,
Though some hearts are meant to be broken.

Alas, I seem to have one of those defective hearts too   Feel better Michael, if not for yourself, for everyone here in the forums.

Beautifully done.
The release is coming

WOW! I felt this poem with my very core. Absolutely breathtaking! I have read a few pieces of your work, but this so far is my favorite! I wish you nothing but much love and happiness, as you continue through your journey of life...

*Cheers* to moving onward and upward! Great poem!

I agree with everyone comments here so far on this one. Everyline is this leads on to the next, holding my short attention span. Out of much pain, comes much beauty.

Emotional to the heart, to say the least.  Each word struck a chord in my mind that will last for some time.  Thank you for writing that.

Michael, this was sooo beautiful hon.  All life's memories with time become easier to bear, and will always remain special.
This was a magical description of saying goodbye to an old home and old memories.
Good luck with the move!!

May the world hug you today,
With it's warmth and love.
I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart,
That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world,
Wishing you well and
wishing you love......

When you close that door Michael. . . make sure that you open another one. . .

serenity, now I'm blushing...you meant to do that, huh?

Mistikman, I'm feeling pretty good considering everything that's happened recently...still have lots to look forward to this life...I won't waste my time sulking.

Marge, every day gets a little easier from here.

Rebecca, yep, a fresh start in many ways for me.  Love the new surroundings, and always helps to be around friends you can trust.

Amy, glad this poem moved you so much.  I haven't had a chance to read anything of yours yet - I will look just as soon as I post this reply.  Welcome to Passions, btw.

Janet Marie,  I'm so glad my poetry reaches you the way it does.  It's nice to know some people out there really understand what's behind your writing.  I love your signature, btw.

devina, I know you do...a special thnx for you and ((hugs)) right back.

jeremyc, ah heck - you already are!

Isis, ain't it amazing how Time seems to slow down when you're suffering but speeds along when things are going great?  I just hate that.

Sven, I don't see much out there for me that's really gonna make a difference.  Too many doors and I'm fresh out of keys.

Thanks, everyone, for the kind replies.

Michael
