A father feels every moment with his heart
a daughter captures those brief spans of time
making the wonder and awe increase with each breath
that she softly passes while quietly sleeping
or giggles out when Papa wants to play

A mother lives to see her daughter love
making her feel it deep within her baby heart
growing with each playful moment
stricken by every pain filled cry
always there to fill her heart again

A daughter is a singular joy
to be cherished and led softly
and in turn will reward her parents
with more love than could possibly have existed
forming the soul of a hope filled family

~JBowie~

I come from the "other" side. I am the eldest of three daughters in my family. I am extremely close to my Dad & my Mom (bless her she's in heaven now). This poem really touched my heart. Thank you ever so much for sharing! The relationship and bond between child and parent is a forever lasting one, or at least that's how it should be! Great poem!!
