Throw A Little Dirt
~Marge Tindal~

There is an old, old saying.
For eons it's been around.
'When you throw a little dirt
you lose a little ground.'

If indeed it's true,
and I believe it with all my soul,
you must be in over your head,
for you've dug yourself into a hole.

It's for sure, you'll get it back,
when others do as you have done.
They'll eventually throw it back
and then you will have some.

Better to sweep it out the door,
or sweep it under the rug.
It may just land on your head,
in the hole that you have dug.

When it lands on top of you
then the story is through.
You will be buried under
the same dirt that you threw.

SEA~
Thanks, hon.
Sometimes you just have to hope
it goes back to land where it came from.

I think I'll put my shovel away after reading this one--what wise words you convey here, and so well!

Marge: You write about many subjects and most of what you say I agree with but heaven help me, this one feels so right..I'm in two minds though, does one throw dirt to get a retraction or does one do it because they're angry/hurt...either way...wouldn't it just be so great if people could talk, listen and understand, then just maybe, one could throw kindess around instead of dirt, share a smile instead of hurt...work their way through the problem and all would be a little happier..

I simply don't know what to say but the above is the reaction..

Wonderful poem! Ypo've expressed a lot about something people take for granted.

Denise~
I'm real glad you enjoyed it.

Martie~
Thank you gal.  I doubt that
you are a 'dirt' tosser ... so
hang on to that shovel !

RainbowGirl~
I think that MOST people throw dirt
at others to 'get even' for a hurt or a
wrong they feel has been done to them.

However, unfortunately there are those
who simply make it a part of their lives
in an attempt to sully the reputation
of someone they envy.

The poor souls just don't realize how
'dirty' they get throwing all that dirt.

Thanks for the input.  I'd say you said it well.

Suthern~
I'm very glad that you enjoyed it.

NateDogg~
Thanks, and just where have you been?
You've been missed.
