~Love's Fine Line~

You never knew the difference,
and you could never see...
Love walks a fine line-
Between charity and chastity.

My emotions remain unrequited,
You reasons cover me with lies.
Mendacious is your nature,
No apologies, only mendicant alibis.

You seem immune to my desperation...
While I stand here, my heart on display.
Once enchanted by your presence-
Now those desires are lost to dismay.

You never knew the difference,
and you could never see...
Love walks a fine line-
between despair and destiny

The rhyming meter in this is nearly
musical!
Glad you reposted,
for I enjoyed the read.

I suppose I read this with a much greater understanding than I did the first time through.  I can relate to this well.  I hope smiles are in your future.
