What would our world be like today
If poets words were taken away?
The painted images we would not see
Of pictures past or yet to be.

Into the wind our words would go.
And hence no one would ever know
Of the heartache and anguish we harbor within.
Or the passion and beauty that flows through our pen.

Each others hearts we could not touch.
Nor share our thoughts we crave so much.
This world made up of sight and sound
Would be missing something quite profound.

Eloise~
You just said a mouth full !
I think of all the poets from the
past that I've read ... and so thankful
I am that they cared enough to pen their
thoughts for us.
With all the talent abounding within
these walls ... we will be remembered.
This is just wonderful.

what a beautiful poem...I love this one...
perfectly expressed.very nice...
a poets words...our wisdom to gain
take care, janet marie

 I love you
Is all that you can't say-
Years gone by and still...
Words don't come easily
Like I love you, I love you...
But you can say baby...
Baby can I hold you tonight
Maybe if I told you the right words
At the right time you'd be mine...

This is wonderful, Eloise! A poet without words is a very sad person.

Eloise, thank you for the gifting of this wise and prolific verse! A poet without words would be as tragic as an artist without a canvas, a shoe without a sole, a moon without its man...lol...sorry, got carried away, but indeed, the words of the poet are the very breath of one's spirit. Loved this poem!

Thank you all so much for your wonderful responses.  I know I would be completely lost without my pen and words.
