“Our Love”

Words could not do justice
To the feelings in my heart
Nor give vent to emotions
Which I feel when we’re apart.
Words would leave me lacking-
In my eloquence, it’s true...
When comes to my describing
The love I hold for you.
You make the sun come up for me
With dawn of every day.
And days turn into leap years
Those times when I’m away.
The lonely hours on the road-
Prove beyond a doubt...
That you’re the only thing I have
I could not do without.
It seems that you’re beside me
As I’m driving down the road..
Your eerie, semi-presence...
Often seems to be a goad....
To push me ever onward...
Though my eyes are filled with sand
I cannot rest until  I touch
Your tender, loving hand.
And although death may my close my eyes
And put me ‘neath the clay...
My flesh will rest and wait for you
And resurrection day.
And time may here be fleeting...
But when all time is gone-
I know Eternity is long
And you will be my own.

This is one of the sweetest love poems I have ever come across, Gunslinger, in any venue. The way you have expressed devotion in this piece with such charm makes it an exceptional read, and leaves a lady wishing, wistfully, for the honor of having words like these written just for her. Excellent!

*sniff* anyone got a hankie I can borrow?

I sing my tearful song which has charms only for me."

No doubt, words any women would want to hear. Yours is lucky to have them

Another 8 seconds in your heart.
Enjoyed the ride.
