I Can't Dive Deep Enough

I can't dive
deep enough
to reach you,
I try yet
you retreat
further from
my arms grasp.
I'll save myself
the agony
by standing
on the shore,
hoping one day
you'll need
a breath of air
and see me
from the distance
realizing I do care.

The choice
juggles itself
within your hands,
always seems yourself
is the final stand.
I'm laying here
yet you don't seem
to notice,
oblivious to the love
we once had,
as the love
of escaping reality
controls your mind.

What can I say about Lost Dreamer's words that has no been said before?  Another great one?  Or perhaps, I feel these words in my soul, have lived these words in my short life, and hope that I will never have to live them again.  It's so very painful to be on the shore.  Wonderful, Lost Dreamer, wonderful.

I don't need to tell you that I can completely relate to this one.  great poem Gloria about a very helpless feeling, not being able to reach in to someone's heart, not being able to rekindle the fire that once burned.  Looking into the eyes of someone a million miles away.  Sad, but beautiful.

Well written, though disturbing, and another that I can understand and share in its theme. You've expressed so well what it is to disappear behind someone's "addiction," whatever it may be. Superb sharing of your talents.

Another beautiful expression from the heart, Gloria! I too can relate to standing on the shore. I think there is always a purpose though.....we may not see it now but someday maybe. Again, great poem!!

Michael: Thank You, you really got me with "looking into the eyes of someone a million miles away" That's so much what it seems like.

Ruth: Thank You

Meadowmuse: Thank You

dsnyder: Thank You

Times heals all, and he will be healed by his own power of realization, I will always stand by him, just now I'll be on the shore waiting instead of sinking him deeper.

Good thoughts here, Dreamer....and it's not only important that they come to you, but that they come to you while you still care....

and in between
the calm inside me

beautiful emotions expressed SO well in this one...
very nice work!
take care, janet marie

 I love you
Is all that you can't say-
Years gone by and still...
Words don't come easily
Like I love you, I love you...
But you can say baby...
Baby can I hold you tonight
Maybe if I told you the right words
At the right time you'd be mine...

Gloria no better way to express than from the heart! You did just that. Excellent!
