at the gas station
the old man
has an easy face
only lines from smiles
content with his labors

some look down
at the man pumping gas
but if you raise your head
from your stressed stance
you may finally see him

many years ago
as a practiced doctor
he delivered you
still knows your screaming face
changed though it has

as he wipes dripped gas
with a greasy rag
you cannot imagine
the magic
they once contained

as you pay him
he gives you a warm smile
but you do not notice
because he is just
a simple gas pumper

Wow...great piece jbowie.
I guess you just never know who people once where. And should never judge them simply by who they appear to be now.  Great piece.

Thanks

Chris
