God needed a star
To make the heavens bright.
So He took you away
From us tonight.

I will not grieve
For you today.
Because all your pain
Has now gone away.

My only regret
Is that I didn't say good-bye.
So I'll just look up and wave
To that diamond in the sky.

You will forever
Be close to my heart.
Though time and distance
Have split us apart.

About eight years ago my nephew's father died in an accident...My nephew was only 4 at the time.  When he got a little older, (old enough to understand that his father wasn't coming back) it took some time to make him see that his father was never very far from him...

Even today..eight years later, he and I can still pick out our fathers from all the stars in the heavens, our own, diamonds in the sky.

Lovely creation Eloise....truly set off a series of lovely yet painful memories...

Chris

If I can manage to type, I will tell you that I loved this poem.  So poignant and bittersweet.  At least, for me.  It made me think about the stars that I like to see.  The loved ones that I miss terribly to this day are never far from my thoughts.  YOu have brought them to the forefront once again.
Thank you, Eloise for another inspiration.

Chris and sonjes, I am so sorry for your loss.  But it is always comforting to know that they are never far away.  They are always here in spirit and thought.  Thank you both for sharing.

This is a beautiful poem, Eloise. It is so hard to give up a person that we love, even when we know that their passing will end their suffering, and many times thinking of them still being "with" us can help to allay our own.

beautiful, sweet touching poem...
take care, janet marie

 I love you
Is all that you can't say-
Years gone by and still...
Words don't come easily
Like I love you, I love you...
But you can say baby...
Baby can I hold you tonight
Maybe if I told you the right words
At the right time you'd be mine...

Eloise~
This beautiful poem made me go out
and look up at the evening sky ...
saying hello to all my 'stars'.
Thank you, hon for this lovely piece
of your heart, for with it you touched mine.

This is a very symbolic and lovley poem. I think that is very beautiful way to look at that, "diamonds in the sky". It's very spiritual.
