Nighttime

A sordid little man is he that sneaks after dark
looking into windows
a quest to find that which he longs for
not at home but in clandestine peeps
saving his dollars for another garter...
another night darker than daylight
begging for illumination from an intelligent
conversation with the voice that
never sits quiet in his mind.

Robert

Very different.  I like right to the point type of poems.  Thank you for sharing.

Ouch.  Now I'm confused, because I can SO
relate to this 'sordid little man'.  Page Dr. Freud for me please.  I liked this alot
tho, wish I'd thought of it.

Quite honestly,
I find you brilliant, my friend.
Enjoyed very much.

An interesting piece, Robert, though I won't pretend that I all the way understand it. I do like some of your wording.
This is an excellent phrase...

"another night darker than daylight"

Sordid little man that's sneaking after dark I would call it a peeping tom.  I wonder if I'm close, but I know you like to leave us all with our own interpretations! You have a way of leaving it so open that it leaves one with many of those.

Hi Robert ... I like this poem and I can read a lot into it ... But I can't really put a finger on the true moral here ... guess thats what makes it a true form of art ... the reader can make their own moral

heheheheh Ummm Rex, maybe you will understand this, being in the "other" news groups.....but this only took me 2 seconds to write.....it was a goofy response to a "poet" in one of the news groups who always replies to me in crazy poems. So I thought I would give him a crazy poem as a reply.

I just started typing and kinda liked what came out and posted it here to see what reactions I would get.

Maybe my slump is over????

Thanks all of you!!!!

LOL ... well I hope he liked it ... we did

You know I may have wrote a few in this maner as well ... and they turn out surprisingly good because of the intense urge I had to reach out and choke someone

I think I know of one or two that this poem could be applied to
