Alone Beside Himself

The slender shadows cast
upon sunbaked pavement
a silhouette of a man
alone beside himself.
His stride graciously slow
arms swinging harmoniously
lips whistling a rhythmic tune.
I watched from concrete stairs
wondering what brings happiness
floating freely through a man
alone beside himself.

Gloria, what a wonderful poem ! I always like to "watch" people and wonder why they behave as they do. This describes they very well.
Glad you posted it to share.

Munda: Thank You, years ago we used to have this guy who would come whistling up the street and say hi, he was just so happy, and I was reminising and this came from it.

I often wonder about other people and their lives beyond my sight...I love this!

Gloria, discovering why that man is happening is discovering the true nature of life. Happiness does indeed come from within.
