You now have your space
and I now have mine.
How great the sun
in my world now shines.
You no longer tell me
which way to run,
My heart no longer
weighs a ton.
Your materialistic ways
and all the silly games
you play;
no longer will
I fight for breath and stay.

You say you know God
but idolize evil,
Pretending to agree and nod.
Benjeman Franklin was his title,
but Ben's only purpose
is to bridle.
Power and status
was you love so true
while I stood by
waiting for you.
The four of us
patiently waiting our turn
but time ran out and
you had money to burn.
There are three still left
Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,
they'll put you to the test.

I don't believe money is evil just the way this person abused it.

I love your style, it is very beautiful and gives a great amount of life to all your words.  I dont understand the circumstances that surround this sad story, but i hope everything turned out okay.  It is sad that such dire circumstances create such beautiful poetry.  Wonderful.

Beautifully written poem.  Much truth in it.  My luck would haveit that I have been with a few females that are this way.  Not all are but I can attest to the fact that there are at least a few.  Again, I like this poem.

excellent poem...perfect rhyme pattern...
and well spoken message,
take care, janet marie

Now for me some words come easy...
But I know that they don't mean that much
Compared with the things that are said when lovers touch.
You never knew what I loved in you--
I don't know what you loved in me...
Maybe the picture of somebody you were hoping I might be...
How long have I been sleeping-
How long have I been drifting alone through the night...
How long have I've dreaming I could make it right...
If I closed my eyes and tried with all my might
To be the one you need...

You're right, Julie. Money is not evil but the love of money is the root of all evil. Excellent message in this Julie! I'm so glad to see you writing and posting again!
Hugs, my friend!

Dash, Scorched Dragon, Janet, Denise; Thank you for your endearing comments. My posts here are few and far between due to a busy schedule but each time I do I am reminded of the kindness and lovely people out there.
