By measured degrees we say what we please
From beginning to well rehearsed end
We correctly surmise that to do otherwise
May offend those that we would call friends

Though once in a while we miss by a mile
And out slips something we shouldn't repeat
That's when if by design we remember the line
Open mouth please insert feet

The bigger the gaffe the more we can laugh
When the fur has ceased flying around
For if friendship is true what I may say to you
Might cause me to fall on the ground

When taking a stand I may talk with my hands
Some might say I get carried away
And they just might be right for though they fit tight
I've got both in there 'bout every day !

This certainly brought a smile to my face this dreary morning!

I sing my tearful song which has charms only for me."

I, too, suffer from 'foot in mouth disorder'! It does make swallowing a bit difficult! This is delightful, Dr. Moose!

Very wise words.  I think sometimes we are not considerate enought of how are words and our actions affect others around us.  James

I can relate to this except sometimes I feel two feet just are not enough for some blounders.

I loved this, you have a marvelous
talent for writing catchy poems.

Over here in the Lowlands, we usually bite our tongue. I think your way is a lot less painful. I shall try that from now on
Wise words though !
