She notices the little things
She celebrates your joy
She has a golden poet's pen
Whose verses we enjoy

She has a very caring heart
For those who have been used
And feels compelled to speak aloud
For those who are abused

She's passionate and loving
As anyone can see
Her longing for her one true love
Is in her poetry

She's master of the written word
Of meter and of rhyme
And when she writes in free verse
She's master of all time

Her name is Ruth, we call her Hoot
She's wiser than an owl
Her poetry's quite perfect
Down to every little vowel

We all revere her talents
So far beyond our grasp
She always gives to others
Very little does she ask

But now our little hoot owl
Is asking for a prayer
A simple little gesture
From those of us who care

She asks not much, she wants not much
It's just a humble plea
Our Hoot Owl is in trouble
And she asks, "Please pray for me"

For all she's done for others
For all she's done for me
I've felt the worry in her voice
I answer now her plea

Dear Lord above, I humbly pray
You bless our poet friend
And give her strenth and courage
And upon her soul descend

Blanket her with thy dear love
Protect her from all harm
Whatever waits around the bend
Keep her safe and warm

Shine a light upon her face
Heal her every sore
Fill her heart with heavenly grace
And love forever more

I ask, dear heavenly Father
Answer please my prayer
That she will feel the endless love
Of those of us who care

Encircle Ruth with all our prayers
Encircle her with love
For she's more than just a poet friend
She's a little mourning dove

Hope all goes well with your tests, Ruth
Liz

Liz...you have me crying with this one. Thank you so much my friend. This is beautiful. I have done much thinking about this today and have decided even if the news is the worst thing I can imagine, that there is some reason for it, that God has some purpose behind it. I thank you for this wonderful poem and for you and everyone else's thoughts and prayers. I will let everyone know the test results as soon as I do.

Thank you and hugs

This is a beautifully written about a person I hardly know, but have come to respect for both her writing talent and kindness to those who write here.  A wonderful prayer with an "Amen" from me.

Elizabeth, this is so lovely.
From your pen to God's ear.
We all offer the prayer of comfort,
healing and friendship's love to Ruth.

Ruth, our prayers surround you.
You are in good hands.
Love to you ~*Marge*~
