A Simple Prayer

Tonite my Father
I come to you
as humble as can be.
I've got a little favor
now to ask of you for me.

I come before you not
to beg forgiveness
for my sin
For now I know you've already made
your plans to let me in.

Not tonight, My Father
will I ask for peace on Earth
and such.
For deep within my heart I know,
It's coming soon enough.

Tonite My Father
I come to you
with a simple prayer in mind.
One that won't take up much time
from the rest of all mankind.

I ask tonite my King of Kings
My Lord of Lords above,
simply give me life
just long enough
to get to know true love.

Such a small favor to ask for one with a heart of Gold.
I know this is one prayer that`ll not be over looked by Our father Above.
Nice Job Chris.
Thanx for sharing

Today is the first day of the rest of my life.
And the begining of a new one.

If you are looking for true love ... then true love will find you ... but not til years after you've planted and pampered it
will you see and smell its' bloom

Nicely said my friend. Personally I pray to know it again......5 years since my husband left and not even a date!    All good things will come to those that live according to HIS purpose

I really loved it when Antonio Banderas prayed before the battle in 13th Warrior....
" Lord I just ask that in the next few minutes I may live well"

Gosh, if I could just honestly pray that every day "Lord let me live well today"....

Lovely poem and a good reminder to us all
about taking time out for prayer.
