As anger sits in fester,
hate grows each day
Held down deep inside you
It will not go away
You can not see the warnings
You can not read the script
If not for you, adorning you,
you would hardly move your lips
Woe is me, you say,
"No One takes Your Pain away"
Apparitions haunt you,
reality takes you for a ride
As you walk away in silence
With hurt written on your pride
Finding it unbearable,
you can hardly breath
No one to console you
in your time of need
No healing hands to comfort you
Only in a masquerade
Beware the soul inside of you,
will be slowly swept away
Faces change, chameleons all
On cellophane wings they fly
What is left inside you
Is but the fester you denied

What a strange hell, this place you've described.  And odder, still, i thought i was
there all alone...  sad and expressive...
Well done.

Anger that festers when not dealt with. Tori you've done a great job describing that!

This is really good writing, Tori!
I must admit, though, the title...
it made me think of "uncle fester"
from, umm, the Addam's Family!
That alone, got a smile out of me.
With the silliness out of the way,
I was able to really enjoy this piece.
Very strong emotion here.

Yes Sey~ that old fester can surely eat ya up!
Glad you enjoyed the read

serenity~ I agree with it being a hell we create for our selves and for some strange reason there are thoes groupies who love to help us hang on to the pain of it all, guess it keeps us from looking at the truth.. our self, and no my friend you are never alone here..

suthern~ thanks glad you liked it

Dove~ How true Girl! how true

   Tori,

I have experienced festering hate and more
than once, twice, three.... times I have gone
there over the same things not learning my
lessons.
Thank you for your poem I will remember it
every time I am on one of those rides.
P.S. Beautiful web site
