I’m a caring woman
With an angel’s face
But my lonely heart
Has an empty space

I’ve nearly given up
Said, “What’s the use?”
For where can a poet
Find herself a muse?

I’m looking for friendship,
Trust, and romance
Someone who cares,
That will take a chance

I enjoy quiet walks,
Sunsets, forests, and streams
I’m searching for someone
To share all my dreams

I like slow dancing,
Hugs, candles and wine
But I don’t like games
So don’t feed me a line

A brain is a must
And  personality too!
Honesty and compassion
Does this sound like you?

If you think that maybe
You’re the one for me
Just drop me a line
And we both shall see

 Have you ever noticed
That the words...
"Goodbye"
"I'm sorry"
"I love you"
Are so easy to pronounce
...Yet so hard to say
~Javan

Hoot, this is a nice poem.  I suspect your mailbox will be filled with those willing to take a chance. (what kind of wine?) Except, you forgot the address......
I really like your poetic imagination!

This is great!

but I have a question...it seems that most of us are looking for the same qualities and if that is fact...then why are there so many lonely people out there?

Great poem, Hoot!!! Would you write an ad for me? LOL. Now mind you... if mine's complimentary, it'll have to be fiction! LOL.

Dear Ms Hoot, I'm answering
The ad you desperately writ.
I think there is a chance for you
If you'll lower your sights a bit.

I know you have been searching,
For yourself a muse.
I don't know much about that,
I haven't got a single clue.

I see you need some friendship,
Would like trust and romance
I'll give you lots of some of that
When I get inside your pants.

I'll give you lots of quiet walks,
You'll see sunsets, forests, and streams.
But if there's football on TV,
You haven't got a dream.

I'm really good at dancing slow,
Except when it comes to truth.
Then I dance all around it girl,
Like I have since my youth.

Hugs, candles and lots of wine
Are the things that I adore.
I don't like games, either, Baby
(Have I told her that before???)

I have a brain, you can trust me
Its as good as when brand new.
I keep it like that all the time,
Because its hardly ever used.

Personality is my middle name,
Honesty and compassion are, too.
I am a saint with shiny halo
(I think a one night stand will do)

I'm  thinking that just maybe,
You should give me a good lay,
Then you can tell me how great I am,
Before I slip away.

Hoot, I think Mr. Cucumber is giving you a hint of what to avoid. Be wary of all vegetables with slick lines. Now where’s your knife.

When I was a teenager, I had a beach towel with a "want ad" on it, and did it ever get me in trouble...had to leave the beach a few times when the drunken sailors got a look at it..LOL...I think you wrote a better ad than my towel

btw, I'd ignore Mr. Cucumbers reply...you know how green and slimy they are when they get "peeled".

I think it is appropriate now to reply

For the first time
We know each other's rhyme and poetry
We know each other's way to destiny
We know a lot about each other's pain
We stand together enduring the rain
We hold on to our hearts
You in words and I in art
Today I heard a chime
For the first time
I listened to your voice
Know that I will always be here
I am yours Truly
The chevalier

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

This is great, hoot!
Perhaps a new challenge for each of us-
we can turn Ron's forum into a "want ad" place
(teasing, ya know)
Interesting to see your replies.
I wonder how everyone would write up their obituaries,
umm, I mean, "personal ads"
cute, cute idea!

A very tender request from a very classy lady.  I too am pulling for you, I wish I would've looked for those qualities too before I married.  Don't ever lower your standards for anyone, anything less would surely sacrifice the quality that is you.
Best wishes in your search.

HMMMMMMMM.....
(Scratches head...)
(Looks at wife....Looks at you....)
(Scratches head...)
Can I have a bit to decide what to do about her?
Just kidding Ruth.  If not for the love in my life already, I would definitely be filling you mailbox with requests.

Love the poem.
Chris.

p.s.  taking off on January's challenge for an obit.   I'm thinking it a little diffucult to imagine one's self dead and what could be said about your life.  Interesting idea I think...maybe we should all try it.

Thanks again for the great read.
Chris.

Anyway, lovely poem

I think that is the ultimate search in life.  Just finding that special someone that makes us whole.  We always say that we are fine on our own, but our bodies were not made to go solo.
Good luck to ya.

Dear Ruth, good luck with you ad, hope you find a sensitive, funny, slow dancing, cuddly poet who is perfect for you.  Cos YOU DESERVE IT!!!
I'm lucky to have my muse in Sven, though we will probably never meet, we are always there for each other, and that is enough.
(HUGS) my friend and thanks

May the world hug you today,
With it's warmth and love.
I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart,
That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world,
Wishing you well and
wishing you love......
