I
storm-fraught
             defenseless

find that in a pace
I travel back
and gasp for breaths
already taken

A path
of wander peaceful
hides just around
a corner
passed before

and so I cry
                just fly

little child already grown
see this life
with feathered eyes

but wings are fallen things
and my words soundless
on the thermals
too high for reach
               and here I step

dragging lived time
into a now
I can't quite define

calling
          for my flight
in a silence still
of yesterday

Kamla, you have the most feathered eyes I have ever known...and you fly towards destiny.  Wonderful poem!

"But wings are fallen things"

What a deeply, exquisitely sad line, Kamla.  Well done on this bit of introspection and philosophy.

Of his bones are coral made,
Those are pearls that were his eyes;
Nothing of him that doth fade
But doth suffer a sea-change
Into something rich and strange...

I loved this...almost like cycles we can't seem to break out of...or missed moments..

Incredible!  Not even strong enough word to give this poem it's proper credit...

This is breathtaking girl...it has an "exhausted peace" about it.  I can certainly relate to that....Also glad to see you back - your writing shows you well.  Hope to see a little more now!

Some poetry stands out from the rest, poetry that speaks of where poets go, where many of us want to be, but not yet ready.
You are there!!!

Wow is all I can say.  This pulls at all the emotion within me.  Very beautiful and desceptively sad.  I love the line,

"but wings are fallen things"

Wonderful work, Kamla.

Seldom have I seen a poem like this
With words so beautiful bliss
Don't ever search the ground for a clue
Soaring through the Poetic sky that should be you
Thank you

Oh Kamla, your words are so haunting!

"gasp for breaths already taken" so often it feels like we're going round in circles, rehashing, facing our past over and over, and not moving forward. Kamla know that you WILL fly again, and you will fly high, and far, and forward, and into better days, new days, days filled with that peace you feel you have bypassed. Keep looking up Kamla, and keep writing!!! I have every bit of confidence in you my friend.
