Big Brother

You were born long before me
I never have known thee
You lived not even a full year
I miss you, wanting you were near
You did not had a destiny
I wonder how it would be
You did not spoke a sound
Then they put you into holly ground
Life for you did never unwind
You left nothing here behind
No bones are left your grave is gone
A Blackbird sings a lonely song
I can’t remember you at all
Before I was born you followed his call
Someday we will meet up there
I’m sure I find you anywhere
Perhaps you came back to us as me
To calm her, to comfort thee
Although I don’t know
Someday on a cloud you will show
Show me your face that I miss so much
Never did I felt your loving touch
A face that I have never read
For this, my Big brother I’m so sad
I remember you today
I love you.
Is all what I wanted to say
I’m sure I'll meet you some day

Dedicated to “Harald” my Big brother who died not even one, and who I never have met.
Born 1949, died 1950

Helmut, this one definitely tugs at the heartstrings. Few things are more powerful than brotherly love, even when you didn't have the chance to know him...You shared the same family, the same cells, the same blood....and that's enough. Very powerful feelings here...

This is very touching and so sad.
To love someone that much without every meeting them is incredible. I'm sure some day you will meet him.

Helmut-
This is the most heart-rendering, touching poem I've ever read.

Bless your heart.
Knowing how much I love my big brother,
I can't imagine never having known him.

Believing, as I do, in the fact that we
are too powerful an entity to just disappear, I really can relate to your lines-

'Perhaps you came back to us as me
To calm her, to comfort thee'

What a perfectly beautiful thought to hold.
I just love your heart, Helmut Becker.

Helmut, I'm so glad you decided to share  this one here tonight. You know how I feel about it. It is poignantly written, and tells much about your heart's pain and strength and your capacity for love.

I wish I were there to give a hug...as you always do...I send one through the screen!!!

Keep your faith dear, and one day you'll be reunited, as will we all! I'm sure he's smiling down on you right now, for all that you've accomplished in this lifetime...you're a great man...always remember that he'd be proud!!!

Helmut, this is really beautiful, I can certainly relate to this and your loss, I was born a twin, but my twin sister was Still Born. And like you I ache for her as you ache for your brother. I know he is with you as I know my sister is with me. *hugs*

Helmut, I too was moved by these words.  Perhaps he did come back as you--what a wonderous thought, no?  I know he would have loved the sweetness that is in his little brother.

Helmut-Your brother will always be with you as long as you keep him in your heart.
I believe that he is with you now because there is no way that one man can have as much talent as you.
I had the pleasure of seeing some of your art on your web page and now your poetry.
Im left speachless.
You are a true artist.
Take care.

Thank`s for bringing this one up for all to read James.
