Last night I saw the stars For the very first time Finally she arrives with knowing eyes And sees all in my mind I’ve grown too old too soon And seen better days, She gives me that strange look But I don’t know what to say Last time I felt like this Was the last time I dreamed Because it’s in the things she does That makes her as pretty as she seems I never knew the serenity That can come from another I try to hold her through the cold And pray not to smother Prayers are sometimes answered As everything falls into place A man knows it’s all planned When he sees that special face |
