On this day, I give you roses of red-
One for each time my heart has bled,
Petals so soft and vulnerable in store-
Just as my heart, crushed upon the floor.

Thick green stems, simply the finest-
Just as the ropes that eternally bind us,
And the thorns, ever hidden from view-
Many times I’ve felt the prick of you.

The thinly lined wrapper, color of gold,
Conceals the very truths left untold.
The ribbon of delicately woven silk strands,
Reminding of my tears, so freely they ran.

This gift being my final loose end-
To a battle I simply could not win,
Saying goodbye to our life of past-
I wish you the best of luck to be had.

I wish there was more that I could say...
This is definantly not the Happy Valentine's Day...

Ditto on the emotions, devina - Definately not a Happy Valentine's Day.  At least you seem to be closing the door to the past and the unattainable.  You're probably a step ahead of me there...  Things will change for you soon, I see a smile in your future.

devina, This a very nicely done poem.
I wish I could say the things that you
need. Healing takes far too much time it seems. What you need is a deversion. Though we love you here at passions, get off this computer get out make new friends. Put a big smile on that lovely face, show those lushes lips, and they will come running. A new romance always helps to fade the other behind.... Hugs

A diversion helps, but doesn't heal. That comes from within. And this eloquently written piece shows you have the strength to, someday, move on. Great work.

It fills my heart with sadness to see
That there is no Valantine for thee
If we all think of thee
Would that help just a little tiny wee
A rose for you I cannot send (still haven't figure this on out yet)
But here's a virtual HUG that I will spend
Nevertheless, the poem is beautifully made dear

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

devina, your poem is a fragrant bouquet of feelings...love, loss, bitterness, anguish, strength and hope...all delicately gathered and beautifully arranged. Happy Valentines Day from me to you.

Sorry you are not having a happy valentines day Devina.  This is a nice reminder that on these occasions, Christmas too, not everyone is happy, some are sad.  I am hoping that a special blessing will come your way on valentines day.   James

Hey devina!  I have an idea -- let's go out and get REALLY, REALLY DRUNK tonight!!

LOL -- you're only about 3000 miles away -- (looking at flight schedule) I might make it there before midnight!  LMAO!

PS:  Valentine's day really sucks.

That was an awesome poem. My valentines day was pretty crappy too. My girlfriend just broke up with me a little while ago. This is the second time this has happened. Enough about my problems, great poem.
