Deep Winter

Soft silence in new snow
on deep winter hillsides of gray, bare
stands of oak with hickory
mingling into shadows blown to windfall
a leftover canopy of broken limbs
tangled into undergrowth fodder
as memories fade becoming tomorrow
with life going on not so much
from letting go… or falling down
but hanging on and growing up.

Robert

Well, Robert-
maybe it was just waiting for you
to 'let go' of it.
It sings to me with images awakening
on a new tomorrow.

I guess all that hard work paid of rather well there
Good job after all

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

Thanks Marge and Helmut.....I was rather dissatisfied with the results...but maybe I will let it alone for awhile and direct my attention to another.

Robert, goodness, have you been cooped up too long?  What is it about this you don't like? I think you've described it very well! The quietness when there is new fallen snow.  Where ya been anyway?

When you can't make up your mind
Which way is right for you,
Stop and softly ask yourself,
What Would Jesus Do?
