With this there will be some closure
For a friendship that is no more
I need to say what's in my heart
Before I close this door.
Life is short, this we know
In an instant we could be gone
And I want you to know what you meant to me
Before tomorrow's new dawn.
I guess I often burdened you
With troubles that were mine
And now it seems, too many times
I crossed over your undrawn line.
Best of friends for many years
Now I must somehow mourn this loss
I knew it wouldn't be easy
But I knew not, how high the cost.
And for all the tomorrows that we won't share
For the burdens we'll each bear alone
Please know that I will care about you
Until the day God calls me back home.
I will cherish every memory...
Let go of what's caused this pain
And pray for peace and happiness
To come into your life again.
I've searched for weeks for answers
Seems there's nothing left to do
Except this hardest, final thing
And at last, let go of you.

Letting go of a friend is always a hard thing to do.
I hope that what ever has brought this separation between two friend`s, turn`s out to be just a misunderstanding.
Good luck to both of you.

BSC ... I've lost a friend or two in my time
it's a lousy feeling and usually leaves a lot of unanswered questions
It's unfortunate that we've also found that time does not heal all wounds

BSC,
I relate so well to this poem.  Crossing an "undrawn line".  Not "knowing the cost" or "knowing what else to do".  I empathize with you on these feelings.  Beautiful and very sad at the same time, especiall the ending.
