ZEN

I know a fairy who's name is zen
Be nice to him and he'll show you his den

Deep in the forest is a den or two
in a far away place you never knew

It's green and lush with unusual sounds
and through the bushes small creatures bound

with unusual noises and sensual smells
There's other fairies with tinkering bells

They fly around just out of sight
And only appear in the still of night

For they have secrets never told
some astounding and some to behold

Thats why they live far far away
Deep in the forest their secrets lay

Only to some do they show their wings
On flower petals is where they sing

So if you hear a fairy sing
you know that it's a sacred thing

Listen carefully, keep an eye out
And if you see one never shout

They keep to themselves always wary
This is the way of every fairy

Written for my daughter who loves stories about fairies             I must say I don't mind one myself

Tracie,I have no idea what ZEN means but I dont think it does this poem justice.
This is a very sweet poem that you have written for your daughter.
I would have named it just that "My Daughters Fairy Tale"...or something like that..sometimes the name alone will cause a great writing to get over looked..
Just trying to be help a friend(not that you need it).  < !signature-->

If you would accept the ramblings of a "stute" resident...I must agree the title is in-appropriate for this piece. I have always thought the meaning of "Zen" to be the complete melding of one with the subject.
A "be-comming" if you will,if only briefly to view the world through the eyes of that which you would emulate .I do like this post and hope to see more .

Wizzard your quite right about the title...Thanks. When I wrote this I thought Zen was a great name for a fairy, and yes I probably should have put more thought into the title...Thanks my friend   Tracie.   Dear Doc thanks for your ramblings they prompted me to look up the word Zen in the dictionary and there it was I had no idea that it actually does mean something...It's a Japanese sect of Buddhism who aim for enlightenment through meditation...thanks for the post Doc...Tracie
