A toast to my departed dog.
In loving memory of
BIGFOOT
Feb. 10, 1986 to Dec. 20, 1999

You were there for me,
What can I say?
I fed you each and every day.

You were faithful to me,
And I trusted you so,
And loyal too, that warmed me soul.

You were all mine.
I was all yours,
We loved each other for sure.

So here’s to you,
And here’s to me,
For all the years you loved me.

So here’s to me,
And here’s to you,
I’ll always remember you.

Melton

Welcome to Passions, I have owned or been around dogs all my life, ( at the moment I have 3 ), I often think that it is somehow unfair that they live such a realativly short time compared with humans.

Thanks for the read.

Melton~ I'm sorry for your loss. This is a sweet tribute to your friend. I don't know what I will do when the day comes when my dog has to leave me. Very nice poem.-SEA

To Craig and SEA,
I am new to this forum and thought I'd use a simple post as an experiment and see what reaction I receive. I have enjoyed all of your great poems so far and I intend to post some of my own poems.
Thanks for the response.

awwww Melton, oh so sweet!  And I dont believe I have had the honor of welcoming you to passions yet, so welcome!

 Did Jesus laugh?
I think He did,
'cause He was once
a little kid;
and all of us
were made with joy
both sugar-spice girl
and snake-snail boy!
