Conditioned dreams
Spew hated screams
~Which echo in the night~
Demented themes
Enchanted beams
~Which hover in my sight~

It tastes of my fear
So eager to pull
Me under and sear
The depths of my soul

Imperiled rest
Contorted jest
~I ache to ease this pain~
Unwanted guest
A newfound quest
~To stop that thrice-cursed train!~

Man, you have been on quite a roll of late.  You've done some wonderful writing while I was away and in the short time I've been back.  This is no exception.  If you fulfill that quest let me know...I'm feeling tied to the tracks right about now...LOL

Great Poem Chris.
they awake me in the night and they offer me no rest- no matter how i scream or sweat, they remain, teasing with every haunting image.
Dreams are dangerous things, but they can also say a lot... dont ignore them.
Alias.

Christopher-
WOW !
You are indeed, on-a-roll.

Creativity slumbers,
awakening within the arms
of the muses of the night.

Excellent poem Christopher. I really enjoy the rhyming scheme you used, it flowed wonderfully. Keep on the roll, I want to read more of this stuff

Hmm -- thought you'd sneak this one by me, did you..?

Loved the rhyme scheme, the surprise at the end was priceless, but if I were you, I'd lose the pink.

--Me

Full fathom five thy father lies,
Of his bones are coral made,
Those are pearls that were his eyes;
Nothing of him that doth fade
But doth suffer a sea-change
Into something rich and strange...

Christopher, I enjoyed this too. I wasn't expecting the train to be your unwanted guest though. Neat ending, well executed, entertaining!

Michael - Does that mean you need some cowboy in a white hat to come to your rescue???

Alias - Alas that I could remember my dreams. The only one's I remember are the one's I have while awake! Thank you for the suggestion though!

Marge - On-a-roll, or on-a-track???

Mistikman - Hey! Thanks! You've given me an excuse to bring back one of my favorites! I'll repost it here in OP #6, or you can follow this link: When Stars Collide

Becca - We'll see...

Ruth - Thank you for giving it some!!!

Kess - Sorrrrrryyyy!!!     LOL, and the pink stays!!!

Nan - "Grasshopper???" Hmmm, now why that???

Sharon - You KNOW my head's not likely to get any bigger...

Claire - Glad I could surprise you, t'was my intent. Actually, I'm surprise some people took the "train" as a dark symbolism...LOL, I meant it to be funny!!!

Not a cowboy, Chris,  I think nothing but some good old fashion girl from Arkansas is gonna help me here.  Haven't seen one around have you?
