Dear Mama,

I'm lost and all alone
I don't know what to do
My dreaded fear has come to life
She told me we were through

Could you rock me in your arms
And kiss my tears away?
Or sing to me a lulaby
And tell me it's OK

I sit here all torn up inside
My life has fell apart
My one and all has left me now
And broke my little heart

Why did I grow up so fast
To have to feel this pain?
I'd rather be fighting with G.I. Joe
Or playing football in the rain

I always know I have you here
When troubles come my way
You always give me good advice
And listen to what I say

I've done what you told me
And prayed to God above
Dear mama please come and pray with me
I've lost my only love

Welcome to Passion
What a poem you have presented
I can relate to your feeling all to well
Well done and so excusitly

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

I know the pain that you speek of in this poem all to well. And i liked how you gave the poem the twist of it coming from a very young man instead of an adult.  To me it adds to the fact that the support from the mother is so important. I was wondering is this about you or did it just cross your mind.  But great job.

Thank you all for your replies to my first entrance! This was a time that I have experienced here recently, in which my mom, as always helped me through. She cried too when I read it to her.
