The Hand That I've Been Dealt

I know what fate awaits me
The fields I have to plow
But it's not written in the stars
Nor etched upon my brow

I know the hand that I've been dealt
What God assigned my name
But this does not consume my mind
Nor flow within my vein

For I have love within my heart
And peace within my soul
And these are treasures greater
Than what vision was fortold

My fate melts with the springtime snows
And flows down every stream
I can only live the moment
I can only live the dream

this is great, it is one half of an arguement that I have with myself...the other half is why do I accept this...why?  maybe my search should be for the peace in my heart...as yours comes through so clearly that the reading of this makes you feel a bit more peaceful.....sigh

Wonderful as always Elizabeth. . .

This is where I am right now in my life. . . we wish that things didn't have to be the way that they are, but it's not up to us. . . we don't get to choose. . . we can only live for today. . .as you have said. . .

Thank you my friend. . .

Liz,

You are difinitely in touch with your muse.  This poem flowed so smoothly, and carried its theme consistently throught the each verse.  Nicely written!

Liz, You have been greatly blessed! I know several people who have gone to their graves without ever having peace or love! Whatever else you've been handed, you've been given the greatest gift. May God bless you always! Your poem besides being written especially well is also very touching! Bless you friend!

Elizabeth, my friend-
You are in touch with a very powerful
entity ... this is splendid.

Your spirit is at peace and that is
something many strive to attain and
fall short.

God bless you, for you have played
your hand well. What a lovely poem of
reassurance and vision.

Love you ~*Marge*~

Liz when you put pen to paper your words just seem to flow! They jump right from the page and just grab ya! Most excellent writing! The peace from God is the only true peace there is!

Liz ya done another,
Poem so very well,
As in all the others,
The stories ya have to tell.

We've all been dealt our hands,
To which our fates will be,
(Of course if you're a Toerag,
Ya keep an ace right up your sleeve).

Liz, WoW, beautiful poem!  My only usualy question though is why have I been dealt this hand and an I fold and be dealt a new one, but I guess I am stuck with this one, so I must make the best of it!

Just be glad I'm not your child! *evil grin*

Liz...you have one of the most positive outlooks of anyone I have ever encountered. I know you've been dealt a hand that most wouldn't bet on in a lifetime, but if I had to place my bets...they'd all be on you. You are an inspiration to many and a good force in this world where we need all the good we can get.

Echo, It's not what cards you have been dealt, but how you play them.
Good luck in your new endeavors
Liz

Hoot, I don't even know what to say to your beautiful response, except a humble thank you. It seems to me that I am the one who has been inspired in this environment, and for that I am truly blessed
Thank you for your very kind words
Love ya
