oh yes, I forgot to tell you

one day my heart and I will soar
and meet you in the sky
one day I will leave these
earth bound feet
that hold me tight to paydays
and pantyhose
and one day they will make cars
that don't break, and
one day I will win the lottery...
and, oh yes, I forgot to tell you
the girl is a dreamer
she can't help it you see
she just grew up that way.
realities can sometimes
do that you know
she sees a tree, any tree
and dreams it filled with fruit,
she sees the hungry and dreams them fed
she sees her frown and
dreams the day it will be a smile.
She sees in her dreams the day
the lonely is no more
and she dreams of the love
who will once again
lift her chin, kiss her lips
and passionately adore her,
She dreams...
for each day she lives,
she dreams the next will be better.
For each day that isn't
she just dreams it so.

Sometimes it takes our dreams to see us through and with any luck, our dreams become realities

Welcome! Here's to dreams, you have a tender heart. Sounds a lot like the way I think too.
Wonderful!

Which way is right for you,
Stop and softly ask yourself,

How uplifting!

I could feel the wind in my hair....*smiling*  When eveything else is gone...what is left?..if not our dreams?

A good dream is sometimes preferable over a harsh reality... very positive writing.

Wow. A very strong, yet tender, poem. I loved the images you conjured up -- about trees filled with fruit, the hungry being fed, being kissed, etc. Well done. Keep 'em coming!

Corazon, it is the sun
Your dream is not the only one
Never lose sight of reality
But do dream about your destiny
Keep the faith within your soul
One day perhaps you reach your goal
Such a nice poem you did

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

Corazon-
I just love it when dreams
make their way to the light of day
and end up here for me to share.

Dreams are not just phantoms of
the night ... they are the visions
within the souls of daylight.

Beautifully presented.

I love this poem, a dreamer I will always be also, cause when dreams come true I feel like a kid in a candy store.
