(If you want the other side of the story, of the Poem by me, called IN TROUBLE PLENTY--This is a poem which that same domestic squabble inspired, but actually written by my wife, which in no way claims to be a Poet, but has done an admirable job here- even if I am the jerk to whom she is referring.  And now you know,---THE REST OF THE STORY......)

By My WIFE, LINDA S. WHITE

We used to just sit and talk,
And sometimes we'd hold hands and walk.
That was before the internet life,
Now our marriage is filled with strife!
Now he's in an internet poetic fog,
And I just want him to feed the dog.
He frames poems with birthday wishes,
I just wish he would help with dishes.
He sits e-mailing for hours and hours,
Whatever happened to sending flowers?
I have framed poems on all the walls,
And I just hate those voice-mail calls.
He types and e-mails up into the night,
In the morning he looks such a fright.
He internets for hours by the clocks,
I just wish he would pick up his socks.
He has no time for huggin'and kissin',
He thinks his mail he'll be missin'!
He used to say I made him complete,
With this computer stuff I can't compete.
The love life has gone down the drain,
But finding someone new, is such a pain!!
So I think I'll sit him down and explain,
I was so much happier before the internet came!
You say, "What if that doesn't seem to work?"
I can always beat the #%#* out of the jerk!!

(Aah...I knew he would see it my way!!)

Uh-oh.  You just reminded me.  I've got dishes in the sink, and laundry to fold, and--well maybe just one more hour...

So that's how it looks from the other's perspective! What an eye opener! Great poem Linda!! I, like David, spend too much time on the internet. But the time really does just fly on by! It really does. It is so easy to lose our perspective, forget the important things in life. I think I will start spending a bit more time with my hubby, as David will now be spending more time with you. Oh, and David, as Balladeer said, they do have sites for sending flowers!!

I tried to reply to this already but it timed me out.  I bet my husband can relate to this. I spend a lot of time on here.
It can be frustrating! Though if it helps any, he uplifts us much in spiritual work.

Time sure does fly when you're on. Join in won't ya? hehe

LOL. You Go Girl. Job well done Linda...

I have an idea for you why not Internet for two...
Sending notes like in High School,
but this time not holding back for rules!!...
Much spice it may entice...
Maybe more then once or twice
If I had my way..  my Ed would write me Everyday!!
Cause my dear there is no doubt about it..
Its tough for us junkies to kick  the Internet habit!

If with pen in hand I've made you think
I've not wasted one drop of ink

If you want to send him notes,
or if perchance to see what he wrote,
why, get a computer for you, too,
and see his side from his view!

Cute stuff - my husband would relate!!!

Really, Linda - LOL - If you can't beat 'em, consider joining him... Just sit across the room, and message him from there - there are even some really good "real time" voice communication programs out there - I can just see it now...

Very cute poem, sounds like something my husband would relate to me, though he is immersed in the T.V.

Hi, The title caught my eyes
And I am trying not to spend too much time
on the poetry site so my husband won't think I don't love him no more. But you see I have this need to feed my hunger for more poem à la mode.
Love it! Love it!

Thank you all for pacifying my wife, and offering her some advice--Let me tell you, she's not all that gullible--but thanks for trying anyway.  At least we are still together.  But I don't know at this point if she is going to insist I get a divorce from the internet or not!
