We sit out on the balcony,
The sun comes up so warm.
The birds sing us a melody,
New thoughts begin to form.

Of beaches, white with sparkling sand,
Of fragrances so sweet.
Of palm trees swaying from the land
And coming hours of heat.

Of lazing in the warm, moist air
Savoring the slendor.
Drinking tall cool glasses there
Of fruits joined in the blender.

Of playing in the ocean waves,
Then warming in the sun.
Becoming new beachcombing slaves
Until each day is done.

Of dining on exotic fish
Whos names we've never heard.
Sampling each and every dish,
New taste buds being stirred.

Of lazy nights , with pleasant dreams
Of peaceful, content rest.
We're in paradise, it seems!
Oh God, How we've been blessed.

Bev-
I can't make it to Hawaii,
but this sure makes me want to
head to the Florida Keys and watch
the sunset at Mallory Square, sipping
a pineapple frappe`.

Beautiful imagery.

Marge, We've never been to Florida, but any place we can be in shorts in the winter sounds wonderful! I can still see and feel it all! Thank you for your comments.

Being Australian I have longed to go to Hawaii for years.  Your poem only makes me want to go there more and NOW!  I'm thrilled you had such a lovely time there.

Let your heart guide you. It whispers, so listen closely.

We're out there having fun in the warm
Hawaiian sun.  I have notice that the ones who already have a paradise of love and beauty in their hearts are the ones that experience the most enjoyment and pleasure on this Hawaiian Paradise.  I love the palm tree fronds swaying in the breeze also.  James
