Five Minutes in February

A cloud, bulging with rain,
grants a shadow to the hills
and they curve to velvet grace
against the sky.

Elsewhere, the sun
mirrors rainbows and
tufts of new grass
lace the lawn.

The leaves are too wet
to ride the breeze,
they lie limp and soggy
in gutters and down the alley.

The bird inspects the yard
questioning the ground beneath
the bare Liquid Amber
then disappears into the pine.

In the dew of little things,
the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed.
(ee cummings)

How sweet the sound
I can feel the sun is coming

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

I'd love to trade my snow for your rain! I think you'd like that too!
Lovely poem, as always, Martie!

Martie-
A little rain in California has
to make you ecstatic !
This is imagery personified.
