Rhapsody In Blue

I can still recall the song
My heart sang, there, for you
On that misty summers eve
When we were one, not two

The rhythm was enchanting
The notes they mesmerized
Captivated in its spell
I hardly realized

We swayed, there, in its melody
Captured in a trance
Silken skin, bared to your touch
As we began to dance

Heated breaths stirred on my ear
No need for words was found
Inhibitions all were lost
As clothes fell to the ground

I shivered in the evening air
My body burned with fire
Parched and feverish in your wake
You quenched me with desire

You stole the words right from my lips
Consumed them with your heat
And all the while, my restless heart
Kept up its passioned beat

Stolen moments, realized dreams
Throughout the whole night long
In rhythm undeniable
We danced in this, love’s song

Then in the early morning hours
As darkness broke to day
And sunlight filtered through the mist
You softly slipped away

Was it just a dream I had
This night I shared with you
That left my heart forever singing
A rhapsody in blue

 Have you ever noticed
That the words...
"Goodbye"
"I'm sorry"
"I love you"
Are so easy to pronounce
...Yet so hard to say
~Javan

Oh my gosh ... what a beautiful poem
I think I'll take up dancing as a cure
for melancholy!

If I would have danced with you
the night that you described away
You would have lost a shoe or two
Would have loved to dance what can I say
Perhaps when the moon is up tonight
And you send to me the invite
I will sway
with you the night away
Enchanting piece
Hugs and Love always

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

Wow, Hoot owl:

I have always admired your talent.
This is by far your best poem yet.  Very dreamy, passionate, and well written.  You painted such a magical picture of love, and in the end such a bittersweet moment in time.
Applause!!  I always love your work.

Take care,
Melissa Honeybee

Sighing heavily here Ms. Ruth.
Somewhere between then and now, you've become an incredible poet.
I am proud to say that I have watched as your talent has increased in leaps and bounds!!!

Singing in delight,
Lost in all this space.
Heaven filled tonight,
Brought to me in grace.

Knowing you are dancing,
Sharing in my thoughts.
Breathless moments prancing,
Stomach tied in knots.

Wanting to close the distance,
Looking for a way.
Pushing past the resistance,
Closer now each day.

Shoutings in my heart's long halls,
Calling just for you.
Masquerading in life's balls

This...

"Rhapsody in blue"

I used to be schizophrenic, but we're ok now so don't make me mad cause I'm running out of places to hide the bodies......LOL

It was not a dream,
I was truly there with you
a fantasy though it may seem
your Rhapsody was us come true.

So good that one read is not enough, over and over makes it even better.
