In a place twixt dusk and dawn
I met old friends who seemed forlorn

In the shadows of my room
cloaked in evasive semi gloom

they called my name to awake
they had a simple case to make
two figures fixed me with a stare
one was soothing,one a glare
one was an angel who projected wonder
the other a serpent with eyes like thunder

the angel neared and softly spoke
"I'm the love who's heart you broke"
she touched my hand and I felt the pain
that I inflicted in loves good name
the serpent slithered and then she hissed
"I'm the love you never kissed"
then she rose as if to bite
and I remembered my youthful spite

then before my eyes the two converged
and the lover I spurned slowly emerged
in her eyes I saw the grief
the gift I gave of love too brief
she came to me and kissed my lips
I saw her soul as storm tossed ships
In my palm she pressed a ring of gold
in memory of the one I sold
as her tears touched my cheek
her image flickered and faded weak

I surrendered to sleeps sweet caress
it was just a dream,no more nor less
and as morning touched my face
I felt renewed by peaceful grace
a band of gold lay on my quilt
and an angel called to absolve my guilt.

Ummm been away for a few months and looking forward to catching up on everyones stuff..not sure if anyone remembers me? (sobs)

I love this poem! Heck of a dream to see what we've done, and how we've touched others.
