God and His angels must have known
How much I needed to see
That a Mothers love is always there
Throughout----eternity.
And although you are my friends Mother
You remind me at times of my own
When I see you hugging your daughter
I know what I'm being shown.
The way you look at your daughter
That says how much you care -
Helps me to remember the days
When my own sweet Mom was there.
At times it's just the lilt in your voice
Or the gentleness that I hear
That bring warm memories back to me
Of the one that I held so dear.
And when I hear you call her "Honey"
Such a simple little word
Warmth just spreads right through me
For it's my Mother's voice I heard.
It's a joy to see the two of you
Each concerned about the other
There's something special about the bond
Between a daughter and her Mother.
And the goodness that's your daughter
That is always shining through
I know is a special extension
Of the goodness that is you.
