Destiny Mine

I donít rely on tarot cards
Or a crystal ball
Itís not that Iím a cynic,
No, thatís not it at all.

Itís just that I believe
In the power of my dreams.
I have the will to succeed,
Not many do it seems.

Sitting idly does nothing for me,
I canít lie back and wait.
Hoping karma will come through,
Relying on only fate.

I take soul responsibility
Over the life which I preside
The worldís mine for the taking.
My destiny is mine to decide.
***************************

I need a title for this, any suggestions are welcome.  Great challenge!

It matters not how strait the gate;
How charged with punishments the scroll;
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
--W.E. Henley

Great job, Tara! Challenge well met! Title...hmmmmm...how about 'Destiny Mine'...or maybe 'My Dreams, My Destiny'....that's all I can think of right now! Great poem, again, as always!

Tara,

This is a beautiful poem describing your self-reliance. So why not call it that?

"Self-reliance" or maybe, "My Reliant Self"

Tara-
I think you did a wonderful job in meeting the challenge.
Wonderful thoughts.
How about 'Sole Responsibility'?

Marge,

That's a good one, but what about changing one word in the poem and making that "Soul Responsibility"?  That has a deep underlying meaning to me.

Changing "sole responsibility" to "soul responsibility" and then using that as the title as well puts an ever deeper spin on the creation...which was well done.

Tara, I like it, I like it, I like it!!!

You are as always an inspiration to so many (including me!)  Nick and Phillip are so lucky to have you as their Mommy, their girlfriends will all have a tough act to follow!

How about:
Tara: Destiny Mine

I am a Life Purpose Coach who specializes in assisting
men and women to clarify their Life Purpose and then in turn
live true to their purpose. After 5 years working with the
Severely Mentally Ill in County Mental Health, I gave up the
bureaucracy (and safe, secure blanket) of this environment
to pursue my own purpose and passion.

Beautifully done Tara, and words of wisdom to live by. I like "dsnyder"'s suggestion - Destiny Mine.

I'm pleased with all the responses!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Shelley, I'm doubly pleased that you have found your sense of self reliance! That is something to celebrate!

Denise, Gene, Sunshine and Jeff:  As you can see, I used all of your suggestions.  Thank you for helping me name this poem.  I've always found that to be the hardest part.

Ruth, Marge and Luna:  Thanks, ladies. I love how the other poets/poems in here inspire me.  Especially thankful since I hadn't felt inspired in a while.

Julie and Michael, I'm *blushing*!
