Sunshine and shadow were sisters
Sunshine was sunny and fair.
Shadow was moody and sullen
with red lips and shining black hair.

Sunshine made everyone happy
and her golden hair fell o'er her brow.
But Shadow grew jealous and angry
and planned to kill Sunshine somehow.

Sunshine had love in her reaches
they planned to be married some day.
But Shadow with eyes black as midnight
suddenly stepped in the way.

Sunshine grew paler and paler
and grieved for her love that was gone.
She still loved her own wayward sister
even though she had done a cruel wrong.

So Sunshine slipped into oblivion
and Shadow crept into her place.
Life would be richer and fuller
if I could only see sweet Sunshine's face!

Just be glad I'm not your child! *evil grin*

You little stinker,

Just when I thought your sunshine was gone here you are with one more song. Sunshine hasn't slipped into any oblivion, and Shadow may be creeping in, but won't dare to take you on, and you know..? Life is truely richer and fuller cause I'm graced with Sunshine's song..!

Lucky Love

Sweet Echo, I wrote this for you a few days ago, but wanted to put it here in this thread for you to see.

The Bridge

There arises a bridge
o'er the wildest of streams.
A crossing, a portal,
fair footpath to dreams.

Sweet steps falling gingerly,
this new bridge draws nigh.
Coming closer, now crossing,
tread steady, stay dry.

Life's journey, a challenge
you will Passionately meet,
as our blessings and hearts
form the bridge 'neath your feet.

Godspeed and gentle crossings to you, Echo.

Dear LadyClaire

I forgot to post my response to your poem!!

It's remarkable! I love how you've personified the dark and light of spirit with the tale of Sunshine and Shadow! Really a neat idea, with a very unique "sound" to it. This is a remarkable poem, Echo. As I read it, what kept whispering to my mind was how neat this concept would work for a children's poem or book. Something to think about, if you're ever of a mind to do childrens' tales.   This would be fantastic!

Please do keep writing! Your gift is grand!

Claire

Excellent poetry! Keep writing (there's an old fashioned method some of us older poets use called paper and pen..try it ok!?)..Good luck!
