He came into my pet store one day
looking for a golden retriever.
In football terms, he was no tight end,
so must have been a receiver.

He said he wanted companionship
with minimal fuss or bother
and feeling sorry for such as he
I took him home to meet my father.

Two days of wedded bliss had we
till his socks began to stink
his jockeys lay under the bed
his dirty dishes in the sink!

He didn’t work, not a lick
he said he hurt his hips
so he sat in front of my TV
eating salsa and some chips!

At night he cooed and stroked me
hoping for a little action
little did I know he was not
into giving me satisfaction!

If I had a receipt  of purchase
I’d take him back to the store
trade him in, get my refund
and get another boar!

I found this in my archive..and you know what? I don't remember writing it! Could it be Alzheimers? Poetic Amnesia? Sigh! I sure hope I wrote it!

[LOL] Very funny!

Poet, it's not Alzheimer's, just a little repression. When you're traumatized like that, you tend to forget.

BTW, watch for my new post to your challenge, I think it may be my best yet. I should have it posted by tomorrow eve.

Odd....this looks oddly familiar.  Isn't it odd, how odd you are.  I'm odd, you're odd....wouldn't you like....

Ah, forget it.  Or, maybe you already have?  LOL

Ms deVine - you are so incredibly gifted.  How many other poets do you know who can dig up great poems they no longer remember writing?  Only the best poets can do that. hmmmm  - I wonder.... have you forgotten any men you may have been with???  lol

Mr. Ag....you pose an interesting question. So I sat here tried to think of ALL the men I'd been with....let's see there was George (Washington - he slept here)...Abe (he kept calling me Penny)...Teddy (too much of a rough rider!)...Calvin (I think he was there)...Clark (Kent or Gable..don't know which)..then of course we get into my prime when all I could think about was men, men and more men...that is except when I was thinking about stopping the Vietnam war..and of course watching Nixon make a fool of himself (he is NOT a crook! LOL)..and the walk on the moon..and that year the US hockey team won the Olympics....and when women started burning their bras..and the wave of the future was a microwave..and...hmmm WHAT was that question again?
