Distant Memory

I’ve found the memories of our past
Are not enough to make it last
I need much more in life you see
A love that also needs me.

I’ve twisted and turned each night gone by
Looking for answers of when and why
I’ve seen the way you look in my eyes
Those sparks of the past have long since died.

The burning sense I feel inside
Confuses what I have given
To look into your eyes again
Is why I am still living

Yet based on what you have shown me
Our time together has past
Can’t change the things you see in me
Need more to make it last.

Progression in a moment
The compromise of two
To share a love together
Not much more I can do

Open up your will
Allow your mind to roam
Keeping thoughts of what we could be
From this state of the unknown.

not satisfied with it but it will do as my head is so cluttered with thoughts they aren't coming as clear as usual

Poignantly sad...captures beautifully the helplessness of that strange non-communicating place that relationships tend to drift into...like poetry, sometimes they just need to be re-worked. I have faith in you, tho.

Sometimes we just have to move on and let things fall as they do.
Can't make someone Love you. it needs to be mutual or it just doesn't work.
