Dream Lover

He comes to me,
like a thief in the night,
stealing my heart
as if it were his
for the taking all along.

He whispers sweet nothings
into ears
that have been deaf;
the words caressing and soothing
like the gentle wind.

He looks into my eyes
as though he can see
into my very soul;
and I gaze back into his
with eyes that have been blind.

He touches the smoothness of my skin,
his gentle fingers tracing across my body
and electric currents ripple
through my flesh
with every touch.

He steals my heart,
my soul, and my very being.
No longer am I in control.

Senses dead for so long
have now come to life
and I cry out his name
with a voice once mute.

As night succumbs to daylight
and the early morning light sifts
through my bedroom window;
I turn to call to him
and he is gone
...Or was he ever really here.

 Have you ever noticed
That the words...
"Goodbye"
"I'm sorry"
"I love you"
Are so easy to pronounce
...Yet so hard to say
~Javan

Beautiful dream. Too bad they have to end when we wake up! Just lovely, Ruth! As always!

Certainly a dream one despises waking from.  Beautiful, Ruth.

Hoot, this poem was very nice and helps to understand the yearning of the heart.
I enjoy reading your poems. Few express and reveal as you do!

I think I've had that dream before. Very beautifully worded.

Well Ruth my dear,

If it means anything to you....Your so perfect in so many ways.....I think I dreamed you into life.  How else could you have fit my heart so well

 I used to be schizophrenic, but we're ok now so don't make me mad cause I'm running out of places to hide the bodies......LOL

This is a very beautiful poem and describes so well a dream so close to one I've had, I could not have described it better.

Hoot, your poems never fail to make a "movie" play in my mind. You paint the pictures so clearly for me to see. This is simply wonderful. I love reading your work!   -SEA

Hoot-
I think he was really there.
Dreams are but our conscious desires ...
through a clouded haze.

Beautifully romantic.
