PRATTLE

I drivel here, I drivel there.
I pen my prattle everywhere,
And truly hope that what I say
Will make some sense to me today.
For if I can't enlighten me,
How shall the sundry ever see?

I'll jot my thoughts where e'er I go
My tablet's filled before I know.
So leave I shall, my quill o-penned;
And writely prattled spill to fend,
I'll then peruse the words I wrote.
Perhaps my drivel's worthy quote.

At last! A poem written just for me.

Thanks Nan

 Yes, I admit your general rule. That every poet is a fool:
But I myself may serve to show it. That every fool is not a poet.

Nan what a wonderful poem I thought of me when I read it, sometime's the words just keep going through my mind no matter where I am or what I'm doing and I must write it down straight away or it's lost forever..Tracie

Nan-

This is so cute.

Nice to see a lady in the
frozen tundra maintaining a sense of humor.

What a wonderful poem (and sense of humor)
I couldn't post some true drivel here,
but it is somewhere else. (needed to shake up 'ole Brian, hopefully was worth a chuckle.see "Profile")

Yeah, butt Marge... The sun's out now...

Hey Soleil - I've been trying for months to shake Brian's butt enough to get him to post some of his wonderful stuff over here... I do think it could take a Long time....

What seperates the drivel from the deep
Is what the words in reader's heart inspires;
What part it gleans from secrets spirits keep,
And how it chimes with innermost desires --
In this, your "prattle" might be called profound,
So brightly burns what you considered faint;
For even in your most "discordant" sound,
Dear Lady, I have yet to find complaint.

(Um -- and yanno, they have bibs for that dribbling thing ... or was that drivel..?    )

Of his bones are coral made,
Those are pearls that were his eyes;
Nothing of him that doth fade
But doth suffer a sea-change
Into something rich and strange...
