This is a repost

         Hero's and old grey mares

My hero's have turned from the daring dare
To the constance of the old grey mare.
From the thrill of a moments glory
To the dull of a stable story.
From the burst of light of a novas' flare
To the ever burning candle there.
And with that light the pack on my back
Has lightened its load and cleared the track.
Gone is the dreary of the weary.
And I now can smile upon the leery.
I have grown a pair of butterfly wings
And fly above the impossible things.
I cannot change the rules that are there
But I have forgone the worship of dare.
I will burn for a while and light the dark
And hope that my light will light a spark.
I send you my blessings, my love and my care.
And pray you the wisdom of the old grey mare.

FABULOUS poem, Seymour! Words of wisdom! Funny how our perspectives change as we get older in years and wisdom (most of us, anyway...hehehe) Excellent!

Sy: This talks to me and I love

"I will burn for a while and light the dark
And hope that my light will light a spark."
